Karen was raised in a Brazilian culture where breast augmentation was accepted almost as a rite of passage. So when a very thin and athletic Karen turned 22, she opted to balance out her figure with breast implants. But within a few years of her surgery, Karen started to experience a list of autoimmune symptoms and was diagnosed with Lupus. She spent over a decade reading every book she could on how to support her body with natural and healthy solutions. But one evening, she stumbled upon a facebook group of women who were suffering from Breast Implant Illness.  This discovery led her on a journey of explant surgery and commitment to help other women find their way to live in a healthier, natural body.
